Reddit announces AI feature to help brands write Reddit-ready ad copy, LinkedIn expands Thought Leadership ads beyond employees and TikTok video shopping ads are now available globally.
Hello and welcome to Wednesday Morning, a bi-weekly digest of the social advertising platform news and updates you need to know, along with occasional deeper dives, best-in-class ad examples and the resources we find truly helpful.
🗞️ JUST THE HEADLINES:
Reddit announced several helpful platform updates for brands:
First, a new ad format that we can’t wait to try: free form, which mimics the megathread organic format.
Next, a new data partnership with Cision, giving Cision users access to more in-depth platform data via the Reddit API.
And finally, Reddit realizes you may not be comfortable writing ad copy for its audiences, so they’ve enlisted AI tech to help you with that.
TikTok’s latest updates make video ads and carousel ads more shoppable, a good update for any ad format. Here’s what’s new:
Brands can now automatically populate their product catalog into formats like Carousel and Product Tiles
Carousel ads now have a “Shop Now” CTA
LinkedIn says game on to spon con with expansion of Thought Leadership ads. Advertisers, this means you can now sponsor posts by individuals that aren’t employees, as long as the individual approves the brand’s request, similar to other ad platforms.
And finally, dynamic UTMs will be rolled out globally on LinkedIn by the end of March. Could we hope for a campaign manager app next?
📖 RESOURCES: TikTok platform released a new Lead Generation Playbook. Their Hubspot integration announcement last year was an interesting step toward gaining B2B ad spend consideration, but I’m still not completely sold.
